Like many of us, starting out I really had no idea what I truly wanted to do with my life. Going to school because I was taught it was the right thing to do and following the conventional steps in life: school, secure job in the career field that will provide for me and my future family. The whole nine yards with that was always preached to me but it was never something I actually could see myself doing. I found myself constantly looking for different options and ways to sustain without following the prototypical american lifestyle. Art became my outlet. Although it wasnt someting I took very seriously from the start, I would constantly find myself more engrosed in a project i would be working on than anything else. It was a progression, sketching while bored turned into finding photos of atheletes I enjoyed watching like Kobe Bryant and drawing detailed scenes and stills. From drawing it then turned into painting, painting to eventually what lead me to photography.

I first learned photography by shooting at night. If you know anything about photography then you understand it is extremely challenging to shoot with minimal lighting, let alone teach yourself the fundamentals of photography as a whole by shooting at night.
Learning to shoot at night gave me a different perspective, the challenge of manipulating light in your composition made me look for details and small things most would look over when shooting outdoors during the day. That became an advantage for me when I finaly had the courage to start shooting in the sunlight, things were ,uch easier adjusting to going from night photography to daytime and natual lighting.
